Your poker face ain't fooling nobody, nobody here
We've all felt the flame and shed those same tears
Driving home to a one man hell, still counting years, still counting years
Hey brother we're all learning to love again

Making up your bed that day on a foreign floor between foreign walls
Thinking 'bout the words you'd say to a phone that never calls
Feel the weight of your father's ring and all those dreams, and all those dreams
Hey brother, we're all learning to love again

PERFECT DEAN'N'SAM SONG Y/Y? I was just listening to my shuffle the other day, and the first lines caught my ear, and so I listened it out, and now I can't not see it that way. Anyone else?
If [youtube.com profile] lockedinabathroom made a video to it I think I would die happy. Hell, if anyone did. *hinthint*

Quick! Give me your ~essential~ movies. Particularly "iconic" ones, or Disney movies. Don't worry about if I've seen it or not; I probably haven't. Seriously. This is why I'm asking y'all. I know nothing of movies. The extent of my experience is films based off comic books and Pixar. AND STAR WARS. Yes. I have seen it! My childhood was spent voraciously devouring the whole Expanded Universe after watching the original trilogy.
I'm looking at having a movie marathon of all the things I've put off watching over the next weekend. I've already got Mulan ready to go because several people have informed me that it and Aladdin are the best, along with Beauty and The Beast. Also looking at the Die Hard movies, because, seriously, everything I love in a movie. because disney and die hard go so. well. together

So, yeah. Hit me with your best shot.

Also I think my emotions may be on the fritz. The really sweet video of a guy proposing through memes made me cry, and now I'm sniffling along to Matt Kearney. His music makes me feel things, but, um, not usually sad things.

HEY GUYS GUYS GUY WHITE COLLAR TONIGHT \o/ We have our evening all planned around it. And you know what, as much as I love having "my" shows that nobody else watches, it's nice for there to be another show(after Stargate) that we all watch and enjoy(all of us being me, mum, the brother, and even dad when he can hear/see/understand what's going on).
Though, tbh, I'm not sure if I can pull the brother away from Star Trek: Online long enough to actually watch the episode. Apparently it went free today. We won't be seeing him again any time real soon, but, hey, at least it shuts him up pretty effectively, and that's always a consideration. Unless, of course, he insists on filling me in on little details that I can actually live without knowing. Sometimes I regret getting him into Star Trek.

This bit may mean nothing to most people, but it's very exciting for me. In my HAS program(Aerospace Engineering), we had a few projects these past couple weeks, and wow, they were so cool. The first one was a paper on specific careers available in the Aerospace sector. But that alone wasn't the cool part, though it did have lots of analysis, which I loved. The best part was that we had to research and write it all out in APA format. I guess some people hate stuff like that, but I love technically efficient ways of writing things, and I love that specific format. If I become a technical writer(which is something I've looked at doing as a back-up or secondary choice), I'll probably enjoy it so much.
The second thing that got me exited was a forum discussion we had to do regarding ethics. It was basically us being presented with a situation and told to figure out what to do, using the NSPE Code of Ethics for Engineers as guidelines. There wasn't a word-limit, but I think I may cause them to implement one. :P It was really fun to be able analyze a situation and consider various different sides of the argument that may or may not have been backed up by the Code. My brain was having a spazzy moment, and I just let it. That was nice.

So, basically, control-freak me loves analyzing stuff, technical and exacting stuff, and ALL THE DETAILS. That's not actually surprising in any way.

Ugh, I can't wait for my college classes to start up, though. We're not back 'till the 17th, which is nice, since that's the week after finals for HS, but it seems too far off right now. I miss having History to entertain me. Right now I'm spending my days making icons and studying for the HS finals, which I am certainly not looking forward to. I wonder sometimes if HS is just a giant game of peek-a-boo. As in, they make like miserable because you have no clue of what the real world is like, and then suddenly when you're done, you see what it's like outside, and all you can think is "...well, this is a little bit disappointing."

I may be missing getting out of the house every day, though. Shopping this weekend for my new glasses(I want to get the same frames, but new, to go with my new lenses, but apparently we have to shop around for two weeks. My dad does not get that if I don't like what we get, I literally will not wear them. That's something I'm gonna have stuck on my face for another couple of years, and I'm not going to look like an idiot.) and for whatever I need for basketball when it starts, so that should help get rid of some cabin fever. If we go back to HEB, I'm totally picking up the Def Leppard shirt I saw last week, though. And maybe the AC/DC one, too. We'll see.

And now, I should totally be in bed, because I have a finals review in five hours, and I'm going to be half-dead as is.

Look what I found on Spotify today! I already own 99% of the songs on the album, but it's awesome looking at it, knowing, hey, these are the songs I grew up with and love. There's no Michael W. Smith, and I'm sad that "Live Out Loud" isn't on there, but I guess repeating an artist(even one who changed CCM and managed to be popular for almost three decades) is a bad idea. There's no Hillsong, but I guess they're...IDK, I don't know why the wouldn't be on it, lol. Hillsong is kinda the definitive praise band.
A large portion of blame for this post goes to [livejournal.com profile] morelenmir who got me listening to "Dive" on a loop.

Songs That Changed the Church - CCM

1. Dive - Stephen Curtis Chapman
2. Shine - Newsboys (lol, this was one of my favorite songs when I was younger; the Newsboys were the it band after DC Talk, I guess. I'm surprised "I Am Free" isn't on here...)
3. Jesus Freak - DC Talk (speaking of DC Talk...)
4. Beautiful, Scandalous Night - Robbie Seay Band
5. Big House - Audio Adrenaline (No lie, I cried when they disbanded)
6. God of Wonders - Rebecca St. James
7. Indescribable - Chris Tomlin
8. You Put This Love In My Heart - Keith Green
9. I Can Only Imagine - Rita Springer (and another of my favorites...though I don't know why it's Rita Springer instead of MercyMe?)
10. Step By Step - Kim Hill
11. Thy Word - Amy Grant
12. Friends - Daniel Doss Band
13. Testify to Love - Avalon

I realize only maybe three people on my flist may care, but I thought it was awesome. I want to check out the "Songs that Changed The Church - Hymns" because I'm in love with classic hymns. :D

In other news, this;

You know that feeling when you're pushing and pushing to get through with something so you can get to the break...and then you realize you're just going to have to work and push through the break too?
Yeah, I'm at that point. Looking at my to-do list and how much of it has to be done before Christmas and NY and I'm kinda just reeling. I want to curl up in a corner and watch ridiculous movies and eat popcorn and candy canes for the rest of the year.
Egh. Life. Why you so...full?

In other news, thanks everyone for the well wishes for the benefit! It was good...not as well as we had hoped, and a lot of stuff in the auction went for a lot lower than we'd hoped, but, at least it was something. Trying to divy up what goes where is hard, though, since it's not enough to pay off all of one thing. Just one thing at a time, pretty much, just like always.

Me and the brother finally sat through and watched X-Men: First Class all the way through, finally. I've only got one remarks; yeah, tumblr was totally right, because it's basically one big gay epic Greek tragedy. Everything was sadness by the end. And Charles was kinda unrealistic and an idiot, but I won't get into that too much. Basically, it was good, but, pretty much only on the same level as the other X-Men movies. Certainly not comparable to the rest of the Marvel crop from recently.

Also, posted my [livejournal.com profile] sassy_minibang artwork! The author's gonna put up the main post to the site later(speaking of which, y'all should totally go check out the stories they've gotten. I've only had time to read, like, four of the fics, but they were fantastic), but I won't be around 'till tomorrow afternoon late, so I put mine up tonight. It's over here, for anyone interested!

I've also been working on a 2014 Dean/Cas mix., which has been a...difficult process, as anyone who's been around me during [livejournal.com profile] ontd_spnparty's FFAs can attest to my whining about it. But it's done! And now I have to wait to post it to avoid spamming my comm. But, I figured, hey, I've got people on my flist who'd probably be interested in a peek at it, so here's the covers, if you like;
under a cut because woah, they're pretty big )

ETA: Woah, LJ. Makeover much? First reaction; I DON'T LIKE ITTT GO BAAAACKK. As soon as there's a Stylish fix for it, I'm probably going back.

ETA2: Now I'm gonna go curl up with my printed up fic and work on my piece for [livejournal.com profile] erasureathon.

ETA3 aka last one I swear: They did fix the tags page! It's not, like, two inches wide anymore!

Also, this kinda nifty things I stumbled across whilst lurking...and it actually got me right. My lovely southern drawl is too obvious to be missed by this thing, I guess. From the looks of it it doesn't look like it'd be that accurate but it seems to work, and it's fun!

What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Southern. Love it or hate it, your accent says you're probably from somewhere south of the Ohio River.

If you're not from the South, you probably were overanalyzing the questions. Take the quiz again but don't think so hard next time.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?
