Lj, I love you, but sometimes I just wanna smack ya upside the head...

So, I'm sure none of my flist will do this, as pretty much all of you have said the same thing, but please, please, please don't crosspost comments you make on my entries. I'm sure everyone's heard the long version of that so I'll get on to the more interesting bit, with much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] diek09  for giving me the heads-up.

If your journal uses custom comment pages, then you can use this code to shut off the ability to crosspost. Sadly it doesn't work for people like me who use the unstyled comment pages, but I hope some of y'all can use it!

.b-repost-item {display:none}

1. Go to Customize Journal Style (Customize your theme)
2. Select Custom CSS from left hand sidebar menu
3. Paste the .b-repost-item {display:none} into the Custom stylesheet box (if you already have a custom stylesheet, then just paste it in at the bottom and it should work).
4. Save changes!

I kinda love how NO ONE wants this. :/ Smart LJ, real Smart.

On another note, when you try to post a picture into the Rich Text (with the little picture icon) does it come up with a PB plug in? :( Mine does and I WANT IT GONE! *pouts*

Aha, so that's why it doesn't work for me.. thanks for clarifying that :) Sucks though :(

I hoping that even if people do cross post mine it won't come up as I use a different email address for LJ and FB - that and no-one on LJ has my FB...

But yeah, the whole thing sucks. LJ really do need a slap 'round the head. =]

Thanks for the code btw! I've added it - just in case!

Seeing the 'repost to - facebook, Twitter' thing scared the crap out of me when I first saw it. BLAH.

Why would ppl on FB care about any of your fandom comments and criticisms? IT MAKES NO LOGICAL SENSE. THE PURPOSE OF LJ IS TO BE THE OPPOSITE OF FB AND TWITTER - CONNECT, PLAY, CHAT, SQUEE AND BE RELEVANT.

Why would you possibly need your comment to be in more than one place?

...lets see how long it takes for them to backflip

I get why that feature's useful on other blogging platforms but for LJ? *shakes head* thanks so much for sharing the code!
